Normally, I pull my choke out to the first notch, then crank her over, where it fires almost immediately. You shouldn'd have to twist the throttle at all. Really, you shouldn't crack the throttle until the engine has had a chance to idle for a couple minutes to get the oil warm and circulating. Be careful not to rev the bike up too soon, or too much, it's the only cylinder you've got so treat it well and don't over-rev, especially until the motor is hot and motating !
